Cambodia EV Charging Network in 2026: What the Expansion Means for Riders

Quick answer: Cambodia is accelerating its EV charging infrastructure. In May 2026, the government said more than 170 new charging-station permits had recently been approved and an initial US$10 million funding commitment was supporting the rollout.

Who is leading the expansion?

Electricité du Cambodge (EDC) has been tasked with leading the initiative, while the government is also encouraging private investment. Major national highways are a priority because charging infrastructure depends on reliable electricity supply.

Does this mean electric motorcycles need public fast chargers?

Not necessarily. Many electric motorcycles are primarily charged at home or at a dealer/service location. Public infrastructure is still important because it improves the overall EV ecosystem and supports longer-distance electric mobility.

What should an electric motorcycle owner check?

For AIMA Cambodia products, always follow the charger and battery specifications supplied with the local vehicle.

Local after-sales support for your AIMA

AIMA Cambodia supports you beyond the purchase with local inspection, maintenance and warranty assistance, plus parts support including motors. Our Phnom Penh team is your contact for service arrangements and model-specific advice. After-sales service and support →

Graphene battery configurations

Our current Cambodia sales range uses graphene batteries. Confirm the battery voltage, capacity, charging requirements and written warranty for the exact version you choose. Battery life depends on use and care; no fixed lifespan is promised.

JoyBean: removable battery

JoyBean offers a removable battery for more flexible charging arrangements. Ask the showroom to demonstrate removal and refitting, and confirm the appropriate charger and a suitable charging location before purchase.

Rainy-season checks

Ask about the protection requirements of your specific battery, motor and controller, and inspect the vehicle’s ground clearance. A component’s water-resistance rating does not establish the protection of the whole vehicle or permission to ride through floodwater. Follow the vehicle manual.

Local parts enquiries

AIMA Cambodia supplies parts including motors. Contact the local team to confirm model compatibility, current availability, fitting arrangements, cost and lead time. Parts support does not mean every component is always in stock or replaced free of charge.
